The holiday season can bring lots of cheer, but it can also trigger a lot of anxiety for people who have a hard time buying gifts.
But those worries were just relieved for people who had items on layaway at an Atlanta Walmart. Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry reportedly dropped a total of $430,000 on outstanding layaway balances in the southern city, TMZ reports.
Perry reportedly spent $178k at one store and another $256k at a store in Douglasville, Georgia. Customers who had items on layaway just have to pay a penny and the gifts are theirs to keep.
The Madea franchise start took to Twitter today to let his fans know he originally planned to do this “anonymously,” before word leaked to the press.
“If it was on layaway before 9:30 this morning, I have paid for all of your layaways for Christmas,” he told his social media audience.
“I know it’s hard times and a lot of people are struggling, but I’m just really really grateful to be in a position to do this, so, God bless you.”

Tyler has always been the patron saint of giving back. He recently gave former TV star Geoffrey Owens a gig and recently gifted a home to the mother of one of the actors he used to work with.
The media juggernaut has made positivity the bottom line of his personal and professional ethos.
